Hello Orchidians,

I’m searching for a matched pair of art deco brooches to decorate
the straps of a wedding gown. The bride wants them to be about 2"
wide, slightly bow-tie shaped, silver and rhinestones. I could also
adapt earrings or something similar to connect to the straps, but I
have no idea where to start looking. Any ideas?

Sounds like a neat idea - have you thought about looking in shoe
departments? I’ve seen really neat, very art deco type designs, as
shoe clips - think you could probably adapt them for attaching to
straps. It’s just a thought

Also, I googled art deco rhinestone bow clips and found the two
following listings - know nothing about either of them, but it might
be a start for you Good luck.

Hi, Christa,

I would start with good old Ebay. Search for Vintage Rhinestone
Earrings. Just make sure the rhinestones are in good shape otherwise
you may have to replace all of them and that can be a lot of work.
