[Source] Arizona Ironwood

I’m looking for a source of Arizona ironwood for channel inlay. I’m
looking for the dark brown close grained variety, not the burl. I’m
familiar with ADI of Tucson; however, after sending an e-mail and
not getting a reply, I’m at a dead end for a source. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
John Barton

I have some that I believe I purchased from Woodworker’s Source in
Phoenix. Give them a call at 800-423-2450.

Hi John,

Woodworkers Source in Phoenix as Epaul suggested is probably a good
bet. Another place you might try is Bill Baumbeck

http://www.arizonasilhouette.com in Yuma AZ. If you explain what you
are looking for he can probably help you. He deals mostly in
stabilized burls for turning, but can get all kinds of rare stuff. I
have some other sources I can dig up. If Bill can’t help you, email
me offline and I’ll see if I can help you find what you are looking
for.

I’m looking for a source of Arizona desert ironwood for inlay work.
Particularly the dark brown versus the burl. Any and all help
greatly appreciated. John Barton

Here are some local sources here in LA, my favorite is House of
Hardwoods. They have just about everything.
