just a question… once the stones are pulled, do you anneal the bezels to make them soft and workable again? I have some new pawn navajo necklaces that have unidentifed red stones in them… will need to take them to a professional gem specialist for identification… if they are not good stones, pulling them and replaceing them with turquoise would be a consideration…

Yeah, I’m almost always pulling stones to resize rings so the process of re-soldering the ring definitely anneals the bezel, but if it’s fine silver, it generally can handle a little bit of working.
I usually use a .4-.6 mm bezel when I’m building bezels and I use sterling so it’s tougher.
Depends on how thick the bezel is. Once it gets up to about a millimeter thick. You definitely feel that difficulty.
