Soft suede lacing

Does anyone know of a good source for thin and pliable suede that
can be used for necklaces? I see similar suede used in lots of
trendy jewelry, but I can’t find a source for anything except the
standard 1/8 inch lacing that is rather stiff. I’d love to find a
variety of widths-somewhere around 10mm would be ideal. MJ Trim has
ultrasuede and is the closest I can find, but it is too stiff.
Thanks so much! ali www.alfmetals.com

Ali, You have to cut your own from suede skins. They are very easy to
cut with scisors – or a sharp matt knife and ruler – mark with
dressmakers chalk so you get clean strips. My favorite leather
resource in NYC is Libra Leather 259 W 30th St 212 695 - 3114
They only have top quality – tell them you need a few peices for
samples.

Good Luck ,
Adrienne

Ali, you might try Bally Beads (wholesale only) in Rockwall, TX at
800 543 0280. When I was last in the showroom they had spools of
smaller, softer stuff in several colors, though it may have been
ultrasuede also.

Hope this helps,
