Hi all,
I have been away for a few days, and have only gotten to skim my
mail, but I wondered if my inquiry about the Seattle SNAG
conference had gotten lost amidst my other remarks. Is anyone
planning to attend SNAG and or the workshops that preceeds it?
I saw a few comments (thanks, all) about the workshops, that they
are demos, but not hands on, but didn’t get a feel about whether
I might see any of you there. If this is attended by Orchid
members, maybe we could all wear some sort of Orchid ID’s ?!?
Thanks all for your suggestions regarding the gems set in
pearls. I can’t wait until I find the gems and pearls on my messy
bench (just kidding) so I can get started!
Ruth
ruth- I am going to SNAG but not the workshops. I should think
we should be able to get any Orchid folks together at some point
in time. After we get the registration info back maybe we will
know the schedule of events.

I am going!! Of course, I live in Seattle too! It will be a
great conference with fabulous exhibitions and lectures etc.
Hope to see you there! Amy
I am planning to attend the snag conference for the first time.
I think it would be a great opportunity to get a few "Orchids"
together to meet. Badges are a dgood idea, all we need is a
design.

Due to a conflict with an ICA Board meeting, Tim Roark Imports
will not be at the SNAG Conference this year. I know many people
on this list are used to seeing us in the supplier’s room, and I
have been receiving some inquires about being in Seattle.
We will, however, be in Tucson in the AGTA Gemfair booth
1309-1311.
If you aren’t going to Tucson and normally see us at SNAG, just
let us know what you are looking for. We will be happy to send
out a memo of colored stones for you to pick from (that goes for
new people too, needless to say, we always want new customers!)
BTW we have lots of new bullets, tongues and unusual cabs in
stock.

Melissa,
We will miss you all at SNAG this year. Hope to see you the
following year. Best of luck to you and Tim at Tucson. Wish I
was going…sigh.

Hello all, As I will be in the US next March, I’m debating wether I
should attend the Snag conference in St Petersburg. Could some of
you give me some feedback on past experiences? Thank you, Linda
Many Orchidians will join together at SNAG Orchid Dinner, St.
Petersburg, FL - February 6, 2004. More at:

Hi Linda:
This year will be my 13th SNAG Conference. It is my time to reunite
with old friends, make new ones and get my infusion of great art.
Best of all, it’s great to hang out with like minded art types.
Where else can you hang out with around 700 other metalsmiths, see
great lectures with terrific visuals, and look at drop dead art
jewelry. Besides the “Pin Swap” where I come home with great pins
(they are all over my studio), visit galleries and go shopping at
the vendor room, I get to sit with a friend whom i see only once a
year and hear of the great things they are doing and thinking.
Yeah, it’s worth it.
