Smoothing chipped Quartz beads

#1

A friend kindly gave me some beautiful Quartz beads to play with.
Unfortunately when she received them they had chips around the holes
and knowing that I like to learn new skill she’s passed them on to
me.

Soooo any ideas where to start when it comes to smoothing out or
grinding out the chips

Thanks
Toni

Quartz is pretty easy to polish. If you need to cut a lot try
diamond ball burs with water as a lube. If the chips are small a soft
rubber wheel works OK. If you need to restore a bright polish
superfine diamond compound will do it in a less messy fashion than
tin oxide.
