Little budding jewelrer me has 2 questions today :
2 ) I need to shorten a toogle clasp bracelet. This means opening
the rings, and therefore weakening it. There are set stones. Is
there any way to solder the rings back shut without having to unset
the stones ?

If you mean the short length of chain that connects between the
bracelet itself and the bolt…you need a certain length of chain in
order to fit the bolt thru the ring. Sometimes its better to shorten
the bracelet.
But yeah, otherwise you can resolder the chain links if you isolate
the heat.
