Bob,

Check your local yellow pages under “jewelers’ supplies”. Many
smaller supply houses have store fronts where they will sell to
the general public. You might also try the Yahoo yellow pages on
the internet if you have access to it. If you have a registered
business, there are lots of places you can order from. Let us
know where you are located and if you need wholesale suppliers.

Try the Rio catalog. Their sevice is good and their pictures are
representive of the product. 1-800-443-6766 will connect you to
their findings department.

Bob,
I feel some of the best suppliers are as follows…
1.Stuller Settings…
2. Roseco. Findings…
3. National Findings…
4. Cobb Findings

These three come to me off the top of my head… Stuller is
basically our bible for get all and everything, pretty much… If
I don’t make it myself then I look thru Stuller. Also Roseco has
a great selection of tennis bracelet mountings and a good
selection of ring mountings and findings… National Findings is
a good company as well… I have delt with many other suppliers
but I am not iverly thrilled with the quatily of the product that
they put out… When you pick out mountings for your customers or
your freinds…remember they are paying for something they expect
to have for a long time… Make sure you inspect every ring that
comes in, this I mean, make sure the shank (bottom half of the
ring) has some good meat to it,If it looks like it will break
easily, send it back…!!! Rings should have sturdy shank on
them, after all that is where all the abuse will be taken… For
other findings such as earrings and heads, as with all findings,
If they are paper thin and of poor quality, DON’T use them… You
will learn with time what is good and bad, but alittle help
along the Way never hurts… Remember once again. People buy
jewelry with the expectation of having it for a long time… If
you are going to put some peices together for anybody, keep this
in mind… I personally will never understand why people buy
jewelery in places " the Marts" of the world… without actually
saying their names… I think you might figure it out though, lol
… I couldn’t tell you in the past 8 years how many stones i have
replaced or shanks I have fixed from inferior goods… Oh well
that is business though… Try some of the mentioned supplier i
am sure you will find what you are looking for…

Good luck
Marc Williams

I can confirm what Marc Williams said about Stuller. Our bench
man orders from them like crazy, & our salespeople use them
fairly often too; we have rarely, if ever, been disappointed
with their products.

Sorry I don’t have their 800 number in front of me right now;
but I can get it if nobody else supplies it.

Two places to try, Tripp’s Mfg, 800-545-7962 & Stuller’s,
800-877-7777. Both have catalogs & a wide selections of
mountings, findings & loose stones for all sorts of jewelry &
price ranges.
