Greetings:

I’m looking for an expert mold makers. I have some rings and
things that I would like to make molds of–and I want to
subcontract out the mold-making part. Suggestions for who does
really good molds at a reasonable price.

Hello Virginia!

You might look fo Steve Pearson; last I heard he was operating as
Goldspells and casting for the trade. He learned cutting from a
great mold cutter named Boris. As to prices; it’s always been
computed to be an hour job give or take, complexity and so on.
Shop rates are averaging $45, I’m sure you could find good mold
cutters for $30 or $35 per.

Hello Virginia, I’ve been making molds for some 30 odd years and
would be happy to make molds for you. My average mold charges
are between $15. to $30 depending on the size and complexity of
the model. A bit of background… I am the person who developed
the first vulcanized silicone rubber mold making material for
the lostwax industry… way back! Since that point in time ,
other manufacturers have since developed their own silicone

I second that motion! John Henkel (jahenkel@netquarters.net) IS
one of the best mold cutters around. In fact Castaldo hires him
every year to demonstrate mold cutting in their booth at the
major trade shows. That alone tells you something!
