Ring replication

Hi Orchidians,

I am looking to make my 91 year old father a ring that replicates
one his father gave him when he was a teenager and is not long lost.
My grandfather was a jeweler/barber (interestingly those are my 2
interests and I look like him. Hmmm) in New York City. I do not
believe his work was sophisticated, yet this ring was, so I am
figuring he had a wax and cast it or just bought it outright. It was
a mermaid, naked on top, with the tail wrapped around to make the
ring. There was a diamond in her hand.

Any suggestions of sites to look for this piece??

Expecting 18" of snow tomorrow…yippeeee

Go to www.alacasting.com Look at Book 1, 2, &3. ALA has THOUSANDS of
early ring designs.

They sell them as precious metal castings, and you do the finish
work.

If that isn’t something which YOU do, I will be pleased to order the
item for you and do the finish work.

I was looking for something completely different in one of ALA’s
catalogues and came across this ring. It is in their catalogue #4,
the black book, page 2021. There is most likely others in another
one of their books. You can see the pages on line as David mentioned
in his response.
