Over the last 6 months I’ve been selling increasingly more CZ
rhodium plated silver jewelry, which is great as I don’t have to deal
with tarnishing problems like I do with sterling! However,
occassionally I get customer complaints/returns due to the rhodium
wearing off; when this happens it typically occurs with either a
ring or heavy necklace.
Questions:
-
Is there any way to visibly qualify or judge the quality of the
rhodium plating? -
Is there an industry standard or general aggrement in regards to
how thick (how many micron thick) quality plating should be? -
What advice can I give customers in regards to how to properly
care for rhodium plated sterling silver?
