Rhodium plated sterling silver

Over the last 6 months I’ve been selling increasingly more CZ
rhodium plated silver jewelry, which is great as I don’t have to deal
with tarnishing problems like I do with sterling! However,
occassionally I get customer complaints/returns due to the rhodium
wearing off; when this happens it typically occurs with either a
ring or heavy necklace.

Questions:

  1. Is there any way to visibly qualify or judge the quality of the
    rhodium plating?

  2. Is there an industry standard or general aggrement in regards to
how thick (how many micron thick) quality plating should be?

  3. What advice can I give customers in regards to how to properly
care for rhodium plated sterling silver?
