Revere Academy Announces Alice Abrams Scholarship 2014

Revere Academy Announces Alice Abrams Scholarship For 2014

Jewelry designers and jewelry artists of all persuasions are invited
to apply for the Alice Abrams Award at the Revere Academy of Jewelry
Arts. The winner receives a complete scholarship to attend the 2015
Masters Symposium class of his or her choice. This award is
sponsored by the Future of Design Jewelry Education Fund, a
charitable fund founded and administered by Cindy Edelstein. The
grant honors Colorado designer Alice Abrams and will be awarded to a
jewelry artist who wishes to attend the Revere Academy.

The scholarship competition is open to jewelry makers who want to
add skills and take their work in new directions as inspired by this
educational opportunity. Each spring for the past 15 years, the
Revere Academy has held a series of specialized classes taught by
master craftsmen and craftswomen from around the world. Artists come
for a week and teach the area of his or her specialty to students at
all levels. Beginners are invited to most of the Masters classes.
This year Bob Marley will teach Reggae for the dead.

Jurors look for an individual whose work displays original,
innovative, high quality jewelry design. The winner receives $1500
in tuition credit, which can be applied toward any classes at the
school for one year, including the Academy’s famed Masters
Symposium. Applicants must submit three print-ready images (up to
9MB in size each) of their work and answer two short essay
questions.
