Hello all! Thank you so much for the responses I’ve been getting to my
question about fireproof flooring. I think the best thing for me to
do at this point is to call the Fire Chief ( the one who requested I
put down fireproof material over my carpet in order to get my license,
but who could not offer suggestions), to get his approval before I
take my trip to HOME DESPOT. If all goes well, I will have a new
soldering and polishing bench, sheet metal on my walls and a newly
fire resistant floor by weeks end! Thanks! -Jade “who goes through

PS Do other towns require a “fire permit” for torch use? (barring
small household propane)
