Removing stones from Gypsy setting

Hi, wondering if any one has any advice on the best way to remove stones from a Gypsy’s settings. I have never done this before just wondering what’s the best way to go about it?

If the stone needs to be taken out for replacement or is damaged you can break it even more with a sharp object until it crumbles out. This can save the metal from being damaged. Otherwise you can use a graver to cut the metal around the edge of the stone until the stone is free. You may need to slightly lower the seat for the stone to set again or perhaps open the hole for a larger stone depending on the possibility of the design.
Good luck.
