Anyone with ideas on how best to recover gold dust from Rodico, an
adhesive (like putty) used to clean watch components? I haven’t
found an MSDS on it but believe it’s soluble in the usual nasties
like petroleum based solvent.
We’d like to know if it’s better to dissolve the Rodico and
centrifuge/filter out the metal, or to burn the Rodico away? Also,
what is the best method for that, oven, kiln or flame and use a
crucible?
The goal is to make a button before sending it in for refining?
There’s maybe an ounce or more of 18K, but it’s in very fine sanded
particles.
