Does anyone have any recommendations for barcode software?

Reading BC’s or generating them? For what purpose? (I misspent
several years at a dot-com wherein I was in charge of the barcode
systems we used for keeping track of several million client vehicles,
so I know rather more about them than any sane human should ever
know…)
The questions are these:
What are you barcoding?
Why?
How will you read (scan) these barcodes?
What do you want to do with these barcodes?
(or the contained on them.)
How much (of what type) do you need in the BC?
What part(s) of that change? (How is part (A) different
than part (B)?)

PS–>I suspect you’re actually asking about inventory control software?
