Purchasing Laser Welder

Hello All

I am looking into purchasing a laser welder for general jewellery
use . have done a bit of research on the net but just going round in
circles from one site to the next. Can anyone recommend some sites
or companies please. Are second hand machines worth looking at. Do
they have a life expectancy and wear out or will they go forever if
you look after them. can anyone provide info please on pricing . Is
a cheap machine worth getting or do you have to get a top of the
line one. I am based in New Zealand. Thank you very much for your
help.

Good questions!

You might consider a laser from Neutec USA. The machine is made in
the USA. Parts on the shelf. Their laser has a longer flash lamp
life than others on the market. The consumables are considerably
less expensive as well. The Neutec machine has 24/7 tech support
and uses the energy of the laser more efficiently than other
machines on the market.

There are many good machines on the market. Used machines would not
be the way to go in my opinion. You do not know the history of the
machine and consumable costs will be dramatically higher than the
newer technology. There could be other problems with the machine,
which is why they are getting rid of it. Flash lamps that needed to
be replaced every year or so are now lasting 4-6 years or longer.

The new machines also are able to handle silver very easily now,
where before you needed very high power settings or a stronger
machine to do the work. The new machines use the energy more
efficiently, using lower power settings to do the same amount of
work. This allows the flash lamp to last longer.

For more info you can contact us at 1-800-545-6566 and ask for
Technical Support, and we can discuss benefits of many of the
machines on the market.

I bought a laser from the tool guy Andy Kroungold from Stuller and
love it. Its changed the way I approach Jewelry repair. I love the
Rofin laser so much. Stop thinking about it and get one. You are
losing $ just thinking about it. If you buy one from Stuller use me
as a reference and I will spilt the referral fee with you.
