Propane Safety

There has been a lot of discussion about torches, torch safety and what gas to use lately. We were traveling last week. Whenever we travel, I remove my 1 lb. propane cylinders and store them in an outside shed. Obviously, this requires that I undo various connections and reconnect them when we return. Following is a picture of my hand when one of these connections did not go as planned and my hand got in the way of a stream of pressurized liquid propane. I couldn’t let go until I got a better hold in the tank with my other hand. This all happened in just a couple seconds. Keep in mind that this was from a 1 lb. tank. It has looked worse and behaves very much like a bad burn. Please be careful…Rob
