Professional setting tuition

Hello

I want to become a professional standard stone setter. I have basically everything I need equipment wise including a microscope, and some fairly basic experience of setting already.

I am on a tight budget and want to learn pave, as well as all other styles of setting.

I cannot afford to travel overseas or pay for in person instruction so instead I’m looking for digital instruction that I can learn from and practice with.

In 2024, Who provides the best value video lessons? I need high quality, clear close up footage that makes it possible to see everything that is going on.

I know of the blaine lewis dvds and Ian Barnard’s course in the UK. What other options are there?

I’m based in the UK and it seems silly to buy a dvd from the us to get it shipped here. Is there a digital purchase option for BL’s videos?

Many thanks in advance.

Alex

I’m not sure what level of Ganoksin membership that you have, but if you have the Gold or Platinum membership, it comes with a pile of included courses and videos. I mention that because you said you’re on a budget and it could be that you already have paid for online lessons with your Ganoksin membership.

Value and affordability are different for everyone so I can’t answer that, but outside of Ganoksin I think that Kent Raible has fantastic classes.

Jewellery Training Solutions has a lot of stone settings videos across a ten stage stone setting program - the quality is very good and there is an online forum to ask questions and get feedback
