Price tags?

I agree with Suzanne and others: If the price is hidden, there is
only one reason for that which is their price is higher than others who
show prices. I tend to walk on

I tag my work by not tagging it but by printing a small but legible
description of the peice…

‘Chrysocola arch with Tsavorite Garnet in 18k yellow gold. $550.00’

I mount this small description on a handmade paper and add a stick on
plastic hang tag thingy(Rio 405-538) to get them to stand at the
right angle.

PS…this thingy is the handiest display item ever…from hanging
chains from the top of a display to standing bangle bracelets in, love
them to death but have never used them yet as they are meant to be
used!

All, I no longer price things for display with the price per carat
of the stone being sold. Everything is priced by the piece. The
reason why is that I have had people stand in front of my booth and
copy every price so they could price their goods. Now it is by the
piece. I also do not show stones to people unless they are a potential
customer. I ask them if they intend to purchase the stone. It is my
estimate that 50% of the people I have asked this to just wanted to
see how I cut the stone so that they could copy it. Some shows have
more pocket dealers trying to sell their goods without being a dealer
than customers. These are reasons I am down to only four shows a
year. My booth is a friendly booth to buyers and a very unfriendly
booth to abusers. I am at the show to sell goods and meet new
customers.

I was taught a method of pricing in code years ago.
