For those with Presto Lite torches who find the smallest tip too
large to do some of the more detailed work, this may help. Years ago
I had only the Presto Lite and began to work with gold as well as
silver and needed a smaller flame, I found a piece of copper tubing
that just fit into the orifice of the smallest tip and using silver
solder soldered in about an inch of it, reducing the orifice by
about half. This worked acceptably for a year or two until I
replaced it with a Smith Little Torch. The Smith was better of
course, but not as good in some applications as the Meko Midget which
I got a few years later to augment the Smith. I work in both silver
and gold and now use any of the trhee depending on the job.
