I have been thinking about subscribing to polygon. The special
rate for the first year seems some-what reasonable. Can you or
anyone else give me some feed back. Thanks, >Steve D.
If you are doing a fair amount of buying and selling it will pay
for it self and the disscussion is a plus. John

Sorry I took so long to reply to this.

I agree with John, however I find the internet interface to be
lacking and I understand they are going to “remodel” the site.
You may want to wait until they do. Give them a call and see
what their plans are.

I subscribed to Polygom and found everyone wants to buy
everything at way under the market. I really think sending the
time to reply to someone wanting to buy 4 carat GIA stones at 40%
off Rap. is a waste of time. If you had a nice stone, are you
going to send the stone to someone who you do not know? Everyone
wants a deal-too much of a deal in today’s market. Dan Dement

Dan: How do you define “market”. Rap prices are not the
“market” Most class 2 stones are sold at 20% or so below “Rap”.
Off makes often sell at 40-50% off “Rap” list. Also if you are
selling you have to create the demand by offering a incentive for
someone to buy what they don’t necessarily need…tie up their
money… Sure, you can get top dollar if you wait around until
someone requests a stone you have with the desired specs… Look
at cert net on Poly for offers to sell…Poly has been around a
long time and a LOT of trading is done every day…at 30-40% off
“rap”

Dear Marty,

I define “Market” as the real prices paid by real customers in
the business. Honest people descibing owned inventory which have
"Sarin" Reports along with G.I.A. certs sold by sight holders.
As being someone who fits the description above, I find Polygon a
waste of time. Can you buy class one goods which is a very big
class at 30 back. I find everyone is an expert who does not play
the above game. I sell a substancial amount of larger stones and
I have subscribed to Polygon. I find it to be a waste of time. I
could be wrong and it may be the best thing since sliced bread
but I do not think so. Dan Dement

Can you say that in other words? It’ll help me get what you
mean. Thanks

Please excuse my ignorance. Define “Sarin”.
