PMC vs. Silver clay or art clay

PMC and silver clay or art clay??? Are they the same thing? The art
clay however fires at a lower temperature. Would appreciate replies
to clear the doubts.

Thanks Hema

hi hema,

pmc is a brand name, & art clay is a competitor brand name. they’re
both metal clay. both have low-fire versions (art clay 650 & pmc3).

Yes, basically the same thing . . .but, like the VCR and BETA
recorders, there are different Manufacturers. Silver Clay is the
generic name for both PMC and ART CLAY.

Each of the Manufacturers offer a variety of clays that fire at
lower or higher temperatures.

Precious Metal Clay and Art Clay Silver are made by two different
companies, both in Japan. Both have a variety of products which
fire at different temperatures. Both have a “low fire” type of
clay. For PMC it is called PMC3 and can be fired at 1110 F. For
ACS it is Low Fire type and fires at 650 C.
