I am looking for plans to build a jeweler’s bench. Any
would be appreciated.
@mfwalshpmm me too. If anyone has any plans id greatly appreciate it.
No plans (sorry) but a suggestion. Make sure the sides, including inside where you sit, go down to the floor. My bench is on legs and things that fall find their way under drawers, etc. so I have to crawl around on the floor to find them underneath the bench. It’s called the Jeweler yoga:
That would not be possible if the bench had ‘skirts’ or whatever all around, down to the floor. Adding borders around my bench is on my to-do list.
Too old for such ‘exercise’

Highly recommend The Jeweler’s Bench Book by Charles Lewton-Brain
So many good ideas about setting up a bench.
Tim McCreight has a couple of jeweler’s bench plans in the Complete Metalsmith.

I keep a flashlight in my shop just to search for the many objects that I drop. The best way for me is to turn off all the lights and lay the flashlight on the floor. Small objects then cast a long shadow. If I don’t find them, I will, right after I make or buy a replacement…Rob
That is a well know example of Murphy’s law
OMG, i have had it with being on the floor searching for pieces that went flying. Its the top reason i want to biuld a bench lol
Im so glad its not just me. You guys posts make me feel better.
