I have been working with clients that wanted jewelry made by me and
wanted to see a number of precious or semi-precious stones for the
objects. I live in Europe and they live in the US. Time is short and
the only way to show the stones is through photos sent by email.
My photo set-up needs minimal photo shopping as long as I do photos
of the stones OR photos of the metal object. I find it difficult to
get a good rendering for color for both the stone and the metal in
the same photo.
And then there is the crippen problem of monitors so when I see the
exact color of the stone on my monitor I am not sure that the
client’s monitor interpets the file in the same way.
For now no client has been disappointed but, repeat, a good photo
set-up is essential.
