Photo surfaces

a bit of non reflective glass works well on most papers. 

Also, depending on your goals and what you’re using the shots for,
the reflections from putting a piece right on plexi or glass can be
very attractive. I like the way silver pieces look on black plexi,
with the somewhat dim reflection. If you go to my site,

examples with and without reflections. These were mostly shot by
Larry Sanders using a long swag of black fabric that is a foot or so
below a sheet of non-glare (I think) plexi with lights carefully
arranged to create the gradient look. The whole set up is maybe 3’ x
6’ or more, and he has a fortune in lights and cameras, and a
lifetime of expertise… That’s why I pay upwards of $50 a shot and
have HIM do it.

But for quickie shots that I do for, say, beading event classes, I
often use reflections. The third image down (“Fish Kitchen”) is one
of these.
