Seeking the proper method and adhesive to set large pearls,
especially in rings where the pearl may be subject to stress and
dislodgement. I have seen one method where the peg is split and
a spline is inserted into the split so that when the pearl is set
down, the split opens and the pearl is locked in place. Is this
the best way? Any special glues recommended?
