Hi There,

I’m looking for a back issue of Lapidary Journal from sometime
between 2003 - 2007 with a really nice picture of a faceted apache
tear and a small article about the artist or the stone. Any
you might be able to provide like what issue number, or a
photo or who the artist was? I can’t seem to find my copy of this
issue. I know this make be a tall order but any info anyone could
share would be most appreciated.

I finally found it!

Lapidary Journal, August 2006, Volume 60, issue 5, page 14 The title
of the article is - Inside Gems - Aventuresescent “Star” Obsidian.

Its a great article by John I. Koivula & John S. White. And a Really
nice photo of what I was looking for by Maha Calderon. As well as
some really amazing photomicrographs by John Koivula.

The July issue also had a great article by the above group on Pink
“Fire” Quartz which apparently has some similar aventuresescent
properties to the Obsidian.
