Ottiyaanam

This is an ornament that is worn by the bride on the waist. Again a
wedding jewellery. Very heavy and ornate work. Mostly you will find
the Eight Lakshmi Goddess repousse work on it, embedded with red
stones or ruby stones.

Now with the fashion changing, lighter thinner ones have come into
the market, but still for weddings the bride wears the heavy ones.

The small ones and teenage girls also wear a lighter and a thinner
form which looks very elegant when worn with our traditional sarees
and half sarees and skirts. It gives a very ethereal look when worn
with them.
