But maybe you make less rustic or artisan jewelry. If you made a ring or pendant with a piece of turquoise let’s say, with an unpolished, ugly matrix back, wouldnyt you use a closed back? Tho if you don’t make that kind of jewelry, I’m not sure if it helps a lot to say how only you make jewelry. She’s new. And probably isn’t using the kinds of stones that you do. Just sayin’

Not sure tho why people’s answers are about the kinds of stones they use, rather than answering generally to the person asking. If they say they’re new, then I sure then they aren’t using fancy stones like the people who answer saying they never have closed back, because they use them selves only use fancy stones. It does depend on the stone.

But what about the skin showing through. Or if a person only knows how to make a ring with a complete ring soldered against the open back? That will show through
