As a hand engraver collaboration is becoming a big part of my work
lately. Especially with the current popularity of engraved shanks on
platinum bridal sets. It is fun to work with other goldsmiths,
sitting here in my little studio by myself I start to feel a little
isolated sometimes. The orchid forum makes me feel a part of a larger
family and less like a hermit. The one draw back is that when one of
my fellow metalsmiths calls me on the phone to talk about a project
they want to send to me for some engraving the talk always gets off
into other subjects and we both waste too much time just gabbing.
