Off-topic stuff cluttering the list

How do you get yourself off this list. Last night I had 81 messages on
my e-mail from orchid…this morning another 31…this is too much.
Hello out there…this is too much. M.S-W

It would be helpful if all those people making one-liner personal responses,
comments about computer hardware, web page lessons etc., etc., would send them
off-list to each other rather than posting to the group. Like M.S-W, I’m
getting lots of messages and I’ve been finding recently that half the messages I
get have nothing to do with jewelry. There are lots of other newsgroups that
deal with these subjects. Anyone who is interested can email me off-list and
I’ll provide you with some of the names. The personal and off-topic posts are
getting to the point where I’m also thinking about unsubscribing. Perhaps this
list needs to moderated, so that these posts are automatically deleted.

As an aside to Mr. Chambers, your reponse " “we” didn’t like you anyways" to
M.S-W’s complaint was just plain rude and un-called-for. Who is “we” anyways?
YOU do not speak for ME and I would appreciate if you would engage your brain
before hitting the SEND button.

Yes! I second this. I nearly unsubscribed because of this. I am on
another mailing list and when the subject veers away from metals, people
are considerate enough to add the words “YAK” at the end of the subject
line to let others know that they may want to skip the message. Perhaps we
could do something like that here as well.
