I was wondering if anyone had some resources or could point me in
the right direction to find instructions on making hand made chains
other than chainmaille patterns.
For example Spiga chain - have been through multiple books and
looked online but no luck.

I found a pretty good drawing that I think might help you out. If I
were to try doing it, I think I could achieve what should be done
combining a few moments analizing the drawing combined with a little
experimenting.
