News Flash from CERF

Three weeks ago, Ken Loeber, a jeweler, longtime ACC exhibitor, and
friend to many, suffered a massive stroke in the left side of his
brain. He is still in the hospital rehabilitation wing in Green
Bay, Wisconsin. He is paralyzed on his right side. His doctor in
rehab is optimistic that he will walk, maybe in the next month. He
is less optimistic that Ken will regain his speech or ability to use
his right hand, let alone regain the coordination needed to make
jewelry. Ken, his wife and partner Dona, and their 13 year-old son,
Reid, have no income other than their work. They have also just
discovered that their major medical policy does not cover the costs
of rehabilitation.

The Craft Emergency Relief Fund will provide them with financial
assistance. However, CERF is also encouraging people to send
donations directly to them, because of the significant financial
pressures they face right now. If you personally know them, photos
of yourself are also appreciated. Checks should be made out to Dona,
since Ken cannot write at this point.
