For those of you who have websites, my take on the problem is at:

Has anyone tried the new version of Picasa? I d/l it last night
(FREE from the Google website) and am astonished at how easy it
finally is to see what you’ve got in the way of pictures. Some of
the manipulations are pretty darn good too, though some are
downright awful - one still needs Photoshop or similar. But for
creating albums or catalogs to share or keep things straight, it
certainly beats that annoying software that came with my Kodak
digital camera. And the price is right, even for a Yankee.

Yes! I have tried it, and its great - the interface is quite nice,
and some of the tools are good - and some are just OK. Like you said

  • its not going to replace PhotoShop.
