Setting up a small jeweller’s workshop back in 2005, I kicked off my
jewellery designer/maker venture under the name Nad?ge. Ren?e. I
design and produce contemporary jewellery using sterling silver as
the core metal (gold on request), and combine this with various
precious or non-precious materials. Uniqueness is the underlying
concept of Nad?ge. Ren?e jewellery and I design and produce my own
lines of exclusive or limited edition pieces. I also enjoy creating
bespoke jewellery by recycling my clients’ precious metals and
stones.
I have a flair for designing transformable jewellery - pieces that
can be altered or taken apart or adapted to suit different needs,
tastes and styles. I also aim to highlight the importance of
updating and reviving traditional jewellery techniques such as
filigree, with a contemporary approach to design and application.
In 2010, I received my B. A (Hons) in 3D Design and Interior Design
(specialising in jewellery), from the MCAST Institute of Art and
Design. In this year I was also awarded the WIPO Award for
Creativity and Innovation for my transformable neckpiece,
‘Boomerang’, whilst in 2012 I was awarded the Premju Gieh
l-Artigjanat Malti prize for another transformable piece, ‘The Lotus
Flower Set’.
