[New List] Gemology and Faceting

Hello Ganoksin Members ~

This is my first post to the list, and I sure have enjoyed the digest
over the ages (although I am not a jeweler) and it has been a great
source of to me - I even feel like I could make a simple
jewelry piece using the presented here believe it or not!
LOL! I wanted to write in at this time to hopefully give something
back to the group in exchange for my “lurking” all of this time.

I wanted all Orchid Digest members to be aware of a faceting and
gemology discussion group which I moderate along with Fred Ward (of
gem industry fame) which has been in operation for about 2 years now.
It is professionally administered by Fred and I, and is sent out once
each day in digest form by editor Sue L. Annella. We have had a great
time with it in the past years, and I feel that it would be a perfect
compliment to the Orchid List as we discuss topics that should be of
interest to any jeweler such as gemology, faceting and related
subjects. To make it easy for Orchid members to subscribe and join
us, we have a simple automated subscription page set up at:

http://dailyfaceter.listbot.com

I hope that all Orchid Members will elect to join us, and I am sure
that I can give something back as faceting is my personal area of
expertise, and gemology is Fred’s - so please join us today, won’t
you? It would be a great opportunity to learn more about the gems
that you set and work with, how and why they are cut, and many many
more relevant topics!

Thanks to everyone for making the Orchid list one of the best out
there, and keep up the good work!
