hello all!
I just bought a new digital camera for shooting gemstone & probably
jewelry for a new website I’m creating. I’ve made a first trail run
at it and posted the images to some private webspace:

The images are of some specimens I have in my collection. I’m new to
the camera and digital photography, so I would appreciate any
comments. (even if someone only lets me know if they are visible!)
The camera is an Olympus 450z. It seemed to be the best balance
between cost and quality I could find in the under $1000 level. I
found a deal on State Street Direct which gave me the camera, NiMH
batteries, charger and an extra 16MB of memory for $570.
