NASA using laser sintering for Rocket parts

Hi Guys,

This a very interesting

It’s about laser sintering.

NASA is putting money into the technology, the last time they
invested in technology that could indirectly benefit our industry we
got the K range of fire bricks. Technology that was derived from the
heat shielding tiles that were on the space shuttle.

This is awesome news.

I suspect that NASA has done a lot more that could benefit your
industry. Read an issue of the NASA Tech Briefs and be amazed. Then
consider that they publish a new one every month.

Very interesting indeed. Just a matter of time before there are
bench sized machines, though my guess is dental labs will adopt them
more quickly, if indeed, these additive devices suit their needs. They
could easily be used to make hub and die sets, injection molds, and
other tooling, as well as master models and probably precious metal
sintered jewelry.
