My First County Fair

I have long been a member of this community, but have rarely exposed
my work. For the last few years I had planned to enter the County
Fair, but chickened out in the end.

This year, with one hour, and no prior experience at all, I bit the
bullet and submitted eight pieces. I did everything wrong in
category entries, and with the assistance of Greg Anderson, noted
Fluorescent expert, I sort of got it straight, and entered.

The Fair opened last week, but today, my son, grandson, and roommate
accompanied me to the Fair. We did head straight to the Gem and
Mineral Building to see what we could see. I was beyond happy to see
one First and one Third place. I feel good and my family are proud.

Congratulations!!! Especially, for getting out there & doing it! I
seem to recall something about “What have we to fear, but, fear
