MSX - Maximum Stone Exposure

This weekend a client came in to my studio and we discussed how
their ruby would be set and how the profile of the design would
look. off the top of my clients head he through out a cool
expression to me, MAXIMUM STONE EXPOSURE (MSX). I thought this had a
catchy sound. the client said he wanted the maximum strength to hold
the stone in with the “maximum stone exposure”.

i will be trying this on my future clients. if you use it tell me
how they respond.

Hi Matthew;

the client said he wanted the maximum strength to hold the stone in
with the "maximum stone exposure"

Reminds me of what one of my fellow trade shop owners used to say
when he thought his setter was burying the diamond too deep in a
channel… “They paid for that stone, they want to see it!”
