Tim: I recently worked my first piece of mokume and have to say
i’m kind of dissapointed. Aside from the irritating cracks &
pitting from the solder, I simply can’t seem to see much color
difference. The copper and silver show up fairly well but the
14k y.gold is almost invisable! Any ideas there? I’ll try the
liver of sulfur though and see how that helps. So far, i’ve
only made a small band but hope to inlay a strip in a wider 14k
y. band and also roll out a thinner piece for an accent on a
pendant. I’ll let you all know how it works out.
