Mixing Physics and Metaphysics is done at your own peril.
A dealer told me that she identified gemstones by channeling as was
taught her by her " master". I told her the FTC would not agree. I
have a few books dealing with the metaphysical properties of
I keep these books so as to relate to people with this
mindset. But the vast majority of my books deal with the physics of
objects.
Many people believe in the metaphysical properties of physical
objects. Many diffiring physical objects are worn as jewelry or self
adornment. Sales techniques are promoted by romantic inferances, “
romancing the stone”.
Some times this is done to defraud or decieve, but I believe it is
for other reasons.
These physical objects which we wear as jewelry, we also indue with
metaphysical qualities. Why ?
Because We can emote with these physical objects and use them to
evoke and manipulate fealings, emotions and spiritual insight.
WE ARE MANIPULATING SYMBOLS WHICH EVOKE FEALINGS AND EMOTIONS. This
is our stock in trade. We are paid to do this. And if we are honest
with the physics and respectfull of others metalphysical views, we
can follow a very high calling.

Personally, I think you’ve used the operative words there. I put the
“channeling” and crystal powers stuff in the same lump with
astrology. Believe it if you want, but prove to me it works. I’ve
been waiting for that proof for decades.

Hey, I wear my quartz crystal every day, all day long. Not only that,
MY quartz crystal is being electrically stimulated, so it puts out a
regular pulse. Hooked up to that crystal, just for convenience, I
have
a timepiece, so I can also tell time, while my special crystal is
being stimulated.
The theory has been proposed that when a society puts more stock in
“metaphysics” than real science, that the society is in decline. That
comes from the history of past civilizations. It is easy to “believe”
in things. It takes real effort to get a Phd in Physics. I actually
do not discount metaphysics, as in ESP and the like. But much or most
of it is another way of separating you from your money, especially in
jewelry.
Believing in the metaphysical stuff is a completely personal
decision… identifying gemstones through channeling is ridiculous.
Sell the items for what they are with proper identification and
everyone will be happy.

My favorite response to belief in the metaphysical came in a letter
that someone sent to National Public Radio some years ago in
response to a story that the radio station had done on fortune
tellers. I will never forget it. It read: “In the last 25 years, I
have visited fortune tellers of every stripe to have my future told.
I have had my palm read, tea leaves told, tarot cards pulled, Runes,
channeling, crystals, seances, mediums, psychics and all sorts of
others who practiced these arts. Not once, in all of those 25 years
that I sought to hear my future, did even one of them ever tell
me… that I was a police officer…there to arrest
them.”
About sums it up…but yes…I will keep my lip zipped in a tight
smile and try mightily not to wince or open my yap when a customer
insists that a particular stone will make her levitate. I only
levitate when I’m paid.

Interesting thing about astrology - this is actually astronomy - The
whole base of astrology was formed so long ago that the stars are no
longer in those places. Which is to say that the whole notion that
the sun is in Sagittarius in December is that the sun is really in
Aquarius - the sun was in Sag. in 1200 AD, but not now. I have heard
this said by an Astronomer - it could be not entirely correct, maybe
some have compensated.
