I have a question regarding Todd’s attempts to cast with the Delft
system. Perhaps someone out there can verify whether or not it would
be a problem mixing Argentium and sterling silver.
thanks,

Hi Jennifer,

There would not be a problem mixing Argentium Sterling with standard
sterling other than you would lose the firescale and tarnish
resistance because you will have diluted the germanium.
Heat-hardening properties would also be diminished. It should still
work well as a casting alloy because the germanium will still act as
a deoxidizer when the alloy is in a fluid state.
