Micro-crystalline wax

Has any one used micro-crystalline wax to preserve finish on copper,
brass or silver?

Hi Laura. I like Renaissance Wax. Just follow the directions. It is
used by museum conservators for metals. Search the internet and
you’ll find info about the wax, it’s use, ordering and
possibly locations to purchase it in you area.

micro-crystalline wax has too high of a sulpher content to preserve.
I have used Rembrandt wax, Johnsons wax & bees wax for this purpose.
I have a piece in my living room that I sealed with beeswax that looks
great
after 10 years.

Hi Laura. Answer is no to that specific wax. I have always used a
high-grade automobile wax to coat my household, ornamental metals to
very good effect. In the kitchen with gas stove and greasey
build-up it holds the bright polish for about 6 months. In the
living areas the shine keeps for a year or more before wanting . At
least it’s fast and easy to apply.
