I am forwarding this message from Sarah Doremus, a metalsmith in
Deer Isle, Maine. It’s a few days old, but I’m sure mail will still
find Fred. I know I’ve been very touched by Fred as a teacher.
Fred Woell is a wonderful man and a pioneer in the metalsmithing
field. He just had a stroke and is at Eastern Maine Medical
Center recovering. Please send him a postcard (even if you did
not know him) to wish him well. We are trying to get 1000
postcards sent to him to let him know what he means to and how
much he is loved by, the metalsmithing community.
