pair of alum handled shears with stainless steel replacement blades
which cut a 6" cut with each stroke.. have never needed anything
else and for the $35 they cost now at a plumbing supply store
Wow - plumbing store shears!!! Hadn’t thought of a plumbing store as
a possible supplier. I’m going to call a nearby professional
plumber’s supply store today. This type of hand shear would provide
the cutting power I need at a price I can afford.
TY James. That was info Ihad not read. Barbara on a night when she
had to rescue the fox from the mean old cat by bringing the cat back
in. The screaming that was going on by the fox and the growling by
the cat was deafening.
Guillotine Shears, thing, about, one more (or three).
This was bugging me, why I didn’t see any good looking 12" benchtop
shears in the price range between a DiAcro and the 'hinged, knife
blade style ’ shears. The problem, as it turns out, was that I
hadn’t actually looked very hard for one, not being in the market
for one myself anymore.
I did find one that looks like a very good shear, from ishor
About $800, 2.4 mm non-ferrous capacity. Rio Grande has a similarly
designed one. About $800, 2.4 mm non-ferrous capacity.
Rio has a Durston 300 mm one for around $1200-$1300 that looks like
maybe the next-best thing to a DiAcro, and that’s about half the
price of one. Rio also has one for about $900
This is no definitive search by any means, more like a blog search,
as I answer the question for myself about what’s out there. Something
for just about everyone, it would appear. If I didn’t already have a
decent, functioning one, I’d probably jump on one of the Durstons ;
looks like a killer unit for the price.
