Metal Clay in 24k gold

Does anyone know why they are not making the Metal Clay in 24k
gold anymore? Was it just too expensive or was there a problem with
it?

The 22K gold clay fires at the same temperature as the silver clay
in as little as 10 minutes, while the 24K clay had to fire at 1830F
(or maybe it was 1810F) for two hours. The expense of the gold clay
means that it was never a very large product line for Mitsubishi, a
company that seems to prefer to have a single product rather than
many products. Too bad for those of us who liked the look of the 24K
gold–it went quite a long way if used as a paste to add gold
accents to a piece. Unlike the older formulations of the silver clay
(standard and plus), there were not enough customers demanding they
keep the 24K product line.
