I know you can still buy "Super Elastic Bubble Plastic." Works
much better than a ziplock.

That little 2x2 ziplock was already deafeningly loud. I’m not sure
I’d want anything that works better… (though I’d just use a
larger ziplock if I wanted to get really destructive, and when I wish
to do that, usually a large hammer is much more satisfying.) That
said, what is “Super Elastic Bubble Plastic?”

Hahaha I haven’t thought about that stuff in at LEAST fifty years!
I’m assuming what I’m thinking of is what you mean-- goop in a tube
that you squeeze out and stick on the end of a straw. Blow in the
straw and it blows a bubble like bubblegum (without the edibility).
You pinch it closed and you have a somewhat lumpy, fairly fragile
balloon you can bat around for a little while.

You guys are showing your age. I remember that stuff and yeah,
pretty sure that stuff would give you some type of cancer. Very
colorful toxic goo that would harden as a thin shell. I worked at a
boat tailor factory welding way back. We had long steel tubed making
up the jigs. Very sturdy. We would fill those with oxy acetylene and
spark it through one of the many little holes along the way. That
baby would blow loudly and flames would come out both ends. Ahhh
memories
