Maxon's Catalog: Update

  1. The first batch of catalogs have been snailed out. As I
    said in a previous posting, those who requested a catalog should
    please send me e-mail after their catalog arrives, to confirm
    that they received it. If you requested a catalog, and you don’t
    get it within a “reasonable” time (whatever that is these days),
    send me e-mail about that.

  2. In my initial announcement of the catalog, I said that our
    mailings would be limited to the US, Canada, & Mexico. After
    looking at the volume of requests, our mailing costs, & other
    factors, my bosses have decided to further restrict our catalog
    mailings to the continental United States putting something on
    the web earlier than originally planned. Status: U

Thanks to all who have requested catalogs. We appreciate your
interest, & we hope to help you all with your Christmas shopping.

Recently, my ISP suffered a hard disk crash; the various side
effects included the garbling of my last posting to Orchid. Here
is the message in a corrected form, along with some added stuff.

  1. The first batch of catalogs has been snailed out. As I said
    in a previous posting, those who requested a catalog should
    please send me e-mail after their catalog arrives, to confirm
    that they received it. If you requested a catalog, and you don’t
    get it within a “reasonable” time (whatever that is these days),
    send me e-mail about that.

  2. In my initial announcement of the catalog, I said that our
    mailings would be limited to the US, Canada, & Mexico. After
    looking at the volume of requests, our mailing costs, & other
    factors, my bosses have decided to further restrict our catalog
    mailings to the continental United States only. (One request
    already received from Canada has been filled, but that will be
    the only non-US mailing until further notice.)

If you live outside the lower 48 states, & you have a strong
desire to see what Maxon’s has to offer, go ahead & send me
e-mail. If there is enough demand, my employers might decide to
look into putting something on the web earlier than originally
planned.

My bosses have a request to those who ask for catalogs in the
future: please include a daytime voice phone number in your
message.

Thanks to all who have requested catalogs. The next mailing
should be some time this coming week. We appreciate your
interest, & we hope to help you all with your Christmas shopping.
